Annual Review of Automobile Insurance Loss Experience
The AIRB conducts an annual review of automobile insurance loss experience to establish industry benchmarks to be used in the review of insurers' rate filings for basic and additional coverage for private passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles.
The annual review benchmarks are based on data to December 31 of the prior year and are for filings submitted on or after October 1 of each year. The private passenger vehicles industry benchmarks will also be used for the annual (January 1) adjustment to the Grid Rating program.

Prior to July 1, 2014 - Annual Industry-wide Adjustment
Effective July 1, 2014, a new Automobile Insurance Premiums Regulation came into effect which eliminated the annual industry-wide adjustment.
